Privacy Policy
Last updated June 2026Santa Monica Bartending School (“SMBS,” “we,” “us”), a project of AJW Presents, respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have.
Information we collect
We only collect the information you choose to give us. When you use the sign-up form on this site, that includes:
- Your name and email address;
- The program or area of interest you select; and
- Anything you write in the optional message field.
Like most websites, our hosting provider also automatically logs limited technical data (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. We do not use this data to build advertising profiles.
How we use your information
- To respond to you and to follow up about intakes, open days, workshops, and events you’ve asked to hear about;
- To operate, maintain, and improve this website;
- To protect the security and integrity of the site; and
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law. We do not disclose your information to third parties for their own marketing.
Cookies & tracking
This website does not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies. Any cookies used are strictly necessary for the site to function. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings.
Where your information lives
Form submissions are processed and stored by our website host, Netlify, and forwarded to us by email. These providers act as our service providers and process information on our behalf. We take reasonable steps to ensure they handle your information responsibly.
How long we keep it
We keep enrollment enquiries and contact details only as long as needed to respond to you and administer the program you’re interested in, and then for a reasonable period afterward, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or a longer period is required by law.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you and how we use it;
- Access or request a copy of that information;
- Correct inaccurate information;
- Request deletion of your information;
- Opt out of any sale or sharing of your information; and
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
California residents have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA. To make a request, email alex@ajwpresents.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and you may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
Children’s privacy
This website is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you are under 18, please use the form only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information we collect. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “last updated” date above. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
